Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous

When marimba rhythms start to play, dance with me, make me sway.
Like a lazy ocean hugs the shore, hold me close, sway me more.
Like a flower bending in the breeze, bend with me, sway with ease.
When we dance you have a way with me, stay with me, sway with me.
Other dancers may be on the floor Dear, but my eyes will see only you.
Only you have the magic technique When we sway I go weak.

Lecture today was so fast paced I could hardly catch up--> another reason for my recent bout of anxiety.

Had lunch at MAC cause I was hungry and the canteen was pretty full. I felt so.. greasy after that.. like my insides were filled with oil.

Walked around town with Mimi and the weight of my books really hurt my shoulders.

I've got to defrost my fridge today so I had to clear all the food that needed refrigeration, so I combined what was left. Eggs+Toufu+ 1 slice of Ham = Maggie Mee Rojak

I hope my stomach and intestines agree with it.

Posting updated as at 6:15 p.m

My lecture timetable for today.
Lecture C at 8
Practical from 4-6

Its gonna be a boring day.

Anxiety fills my mind. Day 2 of lectures and I'm already panicking. Found no reason for the sudden surge of anxiety, after all, its only day 2. I have to keep my mind occupied. Yes, that's what I'll do.

Had a weird nightmare last night. Felt like I was observing myself falling asleep as a third person. Felt this sudden pressure on top of myself. I could still toss and turn but the pressure lingered on. I wake up at certain times at night, unsure if it was still night or if it was early in the morning. A glance at the clock? 7 a.m. Closed my eyes and waited for the alarm clock to ring. Dragged myself out of bed, half way still being reminded of what I felt the night before.

Anxiety caused this? I have no idea.

Shall experiment with this thought tonight.

Practical was interesting, did a mini tour around the labs and classrooms. I seem like a small ikan bilis in a big pond of other fishes, feeling so new and insignificant. Everything seems like a blur although I can identify with some objects lying around. The opposite room were a bunch of Year 2 students I think. Judging from the expression on their faces, they seem to be able to identify clearly with what the lecturer was saying.

Am I impatient? I think so.

Technology..

Technology really drives me up the wall at times.

But i manage to get things sorted out today so, i'll save you guys my ranting and edited this post. My friend, Franchesta from Malaysia manage to slip the ink cartridge into the slot. I was amazed. She took 3 mins and was successful and I took 3 hours and was still unsuccessful. Oh Boy~~

I got my internet connected today!!! To think they already sped it up.. hai yoh... its torture having a working computer with no internet.

First day at school!! I didnt have my first lecture of the Semester cause my lecturer was apparently lost. Yep, he got lost! The other 2 lectures were okay.. kindof.. boring cause it was all introduction and all that. Seems EXCITING!

hello!!

Hello one and all!
Happy New Year!!
I could not, and still cannot use the internet because installation of internet here is SO SLOW, hence, I am updating my blog using the internet in my Uni. The process of getting the internet connected is very fraustrating. I have to make sure I have 100 pts using suitable ID, wait for email, WAIT for installation kit to be sent to my house. Duration? Roughly 3 weeks. Shoots! Either its too efficient in S'pore or its super inefficient in Aust! They have more competitors than S'pore networks, yet they are still SO SLOW.

Okok, update you guys on what happened since I left. =) MELBOURNE IS SO WARM!! The heat at night is no better than the heat in the afternoon!

My flight was delayed until 12 midnight (original time was 8p.m) all thanks to lovely Bullock and Xuan, we manage to get some shopping done at Bugis, first time I took MRT from Changi Airport, so exciting!! Hahaha, many thanks and hugs to these 2 beautiful ladies. Many thanks to Yongtian for coming as well, even though he was going to be there to sent his cousin off.
I couldn't sleep on the plane, i have no idea why, usually i can doze off the minute i get comfy.
Due to lack of sleep, arrived in Mel feeling very very tired but we had to explore the place since my dad doesnt have alot of time to waste. we walked many times in the wrong direction, took the wrong train etc. yes, my dad and I dont have a sense of direction, actually, its me. haha. =)
We didnt know where was a good place to eat, so feeling very tired and sweaty, we had lunch at MAC. Mac here is expensive!! But they have sizes, S, M, L. S is the same price as the regular we have in S'pore, yet their cup size for drinks is like, Happy Meal size. BO HUA.

Had breakfast again at MAC. Now I realise that S'pore's MAC is actually very good, loads of variety and we have fresh milk in stock! They dont have that here. Took a long long long walk to the agent's office to grab the keys, (moving in today!) we pretty much walked everywhere we went. Uni of Melbourne is HUGE, they have campuses everywhere! Turn left, faculty of XXXXX, turn to the right, faculty of XXXXXX. Huge!
Oh yes, garlic, ginger, toilet roll, bread--> expensive!!! my eyes nearly popped out when i saw how much they were being sold for, of course, comparing them to market price in s'pore, worlds apart!

Met my lovely neighbours from S'pore! They own a car so we drove to Victoria Market --> its like, a pasar-malam, only in the day time and they sell fruits and veg, meat, clothes, everything really.. Had lunch in Little Vietnam, drove to St. Kilda--> its like, East Coast+ Raffles Marina+ a little bit of Bugis. the beaches here are BEAUTIFUL. =)
Had dinner in Little Italy, the restaurant actually looks like a Ferrari fan club! Ferrari mechandises on display, even the car was plastered on the ceiling. NICE!

Had Orientation, not alot of International Students actually, maybe about 2 SJC Classroom size,
ade friends with a China Girl called Mimi.
Had dinner buffet at Crown Casino. Everyone tried to sneak me into the Casino, but couldnt cause i look so so below age (to them la) and they wouldnt believe that I am as old as I say I am. If this is true 20 years from nowI will be super happy. Manage to get in touch with Chieh Yu

The day my dad left to head back home, i cried so much. Cried on the way to the airport and in the airport, so pai seh, but I just couldnt control it. Maybe its the thought of going back to an empty apartment. My neighbours drove to a factory outlet shopping centre which is located near the airport, but my eyes were so tired from crying and I just wasnt in the mood to shop. So, I was just walking from shop to shop, looking like a lifeless ghost. Went home and watched Shen Qing Mi Ma (this show is not bad, its kindof like a sad sweet drama, not my kind of ending though--> get your tissues ready! Zai Zai's acting is so much better than in Meteor Garden, alot better actually.

Had another dose of Orientation, i have been warned by the course co-ordinator that its going to be a very tough course, but oh well, fingers crossed! Ai yoh, books and uniforms here cost a huge bomb! My eys nearly popped out again when I saw how much they cost. Labour cost here is HUGE.

Went to the suburbs with my neighbours, visited a few wineries. SO SO HOT! got an ugly shoe tan. =( I was invited to have steamboat with Chieh Yu, but couldnt make it.

Oh yes, my dad got me an ah sam trolley, you know, the kind those oh ba san wheels to the market? those kind! but over here, everyone uses it! young, old, in between, everyone! maybe that's because people use alot of the trams and the buses. Another thing that is really.... interesting, people actually fight over parking lots. yes, they fight! using their cars. Say, you are trying to park. another car from another direction can just turn in and snatch your lot. annoying right? but that seems to be their culture. at some places, you can only park for 15 mins and people are employed to go around to mark the cars to make sure they leave when their time is up. Weird huh?
Also, people here are very pro-environment, they are actually willing to spend about S$1.20 to buy an environmentally friendly bag (the re-usable type?) and bother to carry them to the supermartket or market just to save on plastic bags. cant imagine those oh ba san in s'pore doing that.

Took a trip down town to see Lion dance. Ang moh's actually participate in CNY celebrations! they are willing to carry the heavy poles holding the dragon and dance around with it, willing to be the one behind the Lion costume, always having to bend down. This really surprised me.

Its dangerous to go out at night when there are big sporting events being held. People will hop into their cars and start horning from their way from the stadium back to their homes, run around the streets carrying the flags of the team they support, scream and shout and all that. patriotic, but very scary.

Its getting so so warm!! No wonder Sandra's advice is to apply sunblock no matter where you go. Sunglasses are important as well, the sun here is really piercing. I'm starting school officially on the 26th of Feb. Classes are up to me to decide which time and when I want to attend which lecture. So I choose all to start at 8a.m.(except on one day) This way, I can rest or study in the afternoon. Everything here, you have to do it yourself. This makes me realise how spoon fed I was when I was still in SJC. From collecting Student Diaries to enrollment to making and ordering student cards to ordering uniforms. Everything you have to do it yourself.

Clinical is difficult to get because there are so many Unis here, so, I might not be able to go back as often as I like, clinical comes first. They fail people quite easily so, I really have to be careful.

That's all for now people, COME AND VISIT ME!!

=)

How time flies

I guess this will be my last post in Singapore for now, might not be able to come online for the next few days as I will be doing alot of miscellaneous stuff. Hopefully I can get the internet up and running at the start of next week.

Mixed feelings fill my mind and heart. How I shall miss my family and girlfriends.

Oh well, its for the best.

I just hope I'll be able to settle down fast and get use to the life there.

Take Care My Dears.

All Smiles

Went for dinner with my lovely clique of 5 at Cartel Serangoon Gardens and dessert at Chomp Chomp. Dinner wasnt that good, but the company was GREAT. How I miss them so at times.. Received gifts of love: an udon looking scarf (missing from picture), a travel first aid kit that was full of different sizes of gauzes and a personalized first aid pouch (pink pouch). Lol, knowing how blister-prone I am, they stocked up well with plasters. 3 packets worth of tissue paper, knowing that I seldom sneeze only once. Cheers Girlfriends!

Met up with Xuan today, watched Miss Potter. Its quite a nice film, very English. Saw an amazing amount of people queing for 10 cents sandwich at Subway. Very Interesting.. Took a walk to Centrepoint, still as boring as ever. Haha, I guess that place doesnt really appeal to people around my age.

My lovely brother, sister and cousin bought me a Norah Jones CD. I was pleasantly surprised because I wasnt expecting anything from them. I feel really blessed. =)

Tomorrow's finally the long awaited day. Fingers crossed!
* I hope my bags arent overweight*

Thank You

My laptop died on me, I just hope the repairman can save the data I want.

Embarking on an eating fiesta.

Had lunch with my parents and went off with momma, met up with Xien, Ray and Dada(Songda) for dinner.

Okok, I was late. A dozen apologies. Dada la, give me wrong directions!

Had a sumptuous dinner at Dada's parent's place. Nice food. The carrot cake (white one) was one of the best I've ever eaten. Ray wiped out the black one.

Gigantic glasses of sugarcane, GIGANTIC! And it costs only $2.! So much better than the ones you get at Chomp Chomp.

They sent me home after that, it was really sweet of them. I had to make them walk quite a distance. Walk back to the bus stop and take a bus back when they could have saved themselves the trouble.

I really feel very blessed to have such wonderful and caring friends. =) Wouldnt trade them for anything else. =)
Looks like I'll be doing alot of eating in the next few days.. Man, I gotta watch the food or watch me GROW.

i'm depressed

My laptop slipped into a coma, nothing greets me other than a light blue screen with words and technical jargons I dont understand.

Now, why did I have to mention that something was amiss? SILLY ME!!!

Why did I choose to restart my computer this morning?

If I hadn't done so, it might still give me the chance to save everything into a hardisk I plan to get tomorrow!!! Tomorrow~~~!!!!!

Ahhh!! WHY WHY WHY!!

I hope the computer guy can save all the data.. if not, all my videos and pictures when I was in the UK will be wiped out..!!!

Today is not a good day.

Having family dinner later, a farewell dinner.

Hai yoh.. such a depressing day~ =(

To Believe

When you get to the end of all the light you know
and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
faith is knowing that one of two things shall happen:
either you will be given something solid to stand on ,
or you'll be taught how to fly. - Edward Teller

oh no~~

Oh No~~

I think my laptop is sick.. either that or its just trying to be funny. For some reason, it has trouble trying to sense the wireless connection at home so I'll be going "on-line" and "off-line" more often these few days. Then, the URL toolbar will start flashing and flashing as though there are so many windows that are loading at the same time. Scary.

Okok, I havent re-newed my anti-virus cause, well, I dont know if it actually works. Do anti-viruses work? I really dont want my laptop to crash and have to reinvent the whole thing. I've got tons of pictures, videos and songs that I dont want to disappear!! I did not invest in a .. what's that thing called.. movable storage thing? I'm not a technical person so I dont know the technical jargon.

Was chatting with Cheryl online the other day, the content? Reminiscents of SJ days. I was thinking of having a gathering at the end of the year, an SJC SJAB Batch of 2000-all 26 of us. That gives me about 11 months or so to contact all 26! Sounds exciting and challenging! =)

Oh boy, I have to re-pack again! Haha, its kindof fun actually. =) Things I do to keep myself occupied. Sigh~~ =x

Will be meeting Monkey Meng later, got to check my BP. Hehehe.. =x

Sigh, the countdown starts.
